Did you know that 91% of teachers have purchased basic school supplies for students whose families are unable to provide them? Teachers must purchase the supplies needed to run the classroom out of their own paychecks. On average, teachers spend up to $1,000 of their own money each year on supplies for their classroom. In low-income districts, school supplies are a luxury that many classrooms go without. Many students miss lunch because they have no money, and have no means to supply themselves with notebooks, folders, pencils etc.
Making a Difference One School at a Time
Ambit has committed to help make sure students have what they need to succeed. Last year, Ambit started a new program called the Ambit Adopt-A-Teacher Program. Each quarter Ambit will nominate a teacher in need of assistance then purchase and deliver supplies for their classroom.
“Teachers sacrifice their time and much of their own money to help develop our country’s future leaders & the least we can do is lend a helping hand when we can. This year our goal is to step it up & make the program quarterly,” said Matt Ford, Owner of Ambit Consulting, LLC.
Last year, Mrs. Gina Sanchez of Scott L. Libby Elementary School was the first delivery for our Ambit Adopt-A-Teacher Program. This year, Ambit has delivered school supplies to Mrs. Sarah White of Tempe High School in the first quarter and Mrs. Gina Sanchez in the second quarter.
Raise Your Hand and Help
We want to challenge other businesses and individuals to do this in their own communities as well. You can make a difference by adopting a classroom to support education. Give teachers a hand by providing needed classroom materials so that students can succeed.
